Dear Mr. Monty P. Miani,

My name is Stacy McGovern, and I wanted to take a moment to tell you just how much Fish and A Stick has meant to me and the children I have the privilege of caring for.

For more than 20 years, I have been blessed to work with children and families as a nanny, caregiver, former preschool teacher, and business owner. I am also a mother to grown children, and one of my greatest joys in life is being a proud Nana to four amazing grandchildren. Today, I care for a wonderful Grandmother who lives with MS, while also nannying for her grandchildren.

Your book has touched our hearts in such a special way.

The children I care for have read Fish and A Stick at least ten times, and they still don’t want me to read anything else! They absolutely love the story, especially the sweet adventure of fishing with Nana. It has quickly become one of their favorite books, and I love watching their excitement each time we read it together.

What makes the book especially meaningful to me is the way it celebrates the beautiful bond between children and their grandparents. Those simple moments, fishing, spending time together, laughing, learning, and making memories, are the moments that often become the stories families treasure for a lifetime.

Your book has done more than entertain the children in my care. It has inspired me personally. It has encouraged me to begin working on a project that has been very near and dear to my heart for a long time. Sometimes a story comes along at just the right moment and reminds us to pursue something we have been carrying in our hearts. Fish and A Stick was that story for me.

Thank you for creating such a heartfelt and meaningful book. You have written a story that families will want to return to again and again, a story that reminds us to slow down, cherish the people we love, and appreciate the memories we are making together.
